The Forest Hill Lantern Festival

A Bit of Information

So I finally got around today to posting our experience at the Lantern festival.  It was beautiful as usual.  It was especially touching for us this year because my husbands father who recently past away is buried there with his mother.  It was his first time so we were touched by it. We both sent messages to our fathers and his mother. I posted some pictures below.

This past Thursday the 10th Annual Lantern Festival was held at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain. This Buddhist-ritual inspired event has long been a big draw for Boston-area photographers and this year was no different. As the paper lanterns inscribed with personal messages floated across Lake Hibiscus and Japanese drummers performed many cameras were snapping the serene scene. Check out the photos for a feel of this special night.

  1. I keep meaning to go to the lantern festival every year. I remember when you made "stained glass" lanterns with your class a few years ago. Love the blog!
