Home In Boston

So it was really nice to spend time with my Mother and my Husband for a few days relaxing and doing some gardening. We swam and relaxed in my brother's hot tub every night looking at the stars.  But, there is something about your own home too that makes you long for it after being away in a bed that is not your own.  I was excited to get back to my garden and I bought a few pots and my mother gave me some plants too so I was itching to garden at my house. I took some pictures of my deck today and I though it reminded me of a Frida Kahlo painting for some reason.  I think its all the colors, wine bottles, candles and plants galor.  I am happy to be home.

My Schoolhouse

So this is a picture of the first school house in my town.  It is exactly the same as it was when it was in use. Can anyone say Little House On The Prairie ? So it was hard to see inside because the windows reflect the outside which makes for a cool picture but hard to see inside. It is maintained by the people in that live around it and it is so beautiful. Sometimes I wish life was simple like this.  There is an old farm house across the street that I alwasy wanted to buy, since I was about 21. Now it has been to let go to bring back which saddens me. One room schoolhouse Front door of School It really does look like its right out of the past. It is in pristine condition. Ok so here is he house that I always dreamed of having with a farm too. As you can see it is severely in need of love now  andI do not think  it can make a comeback.  I wish I could fix it up though. Looks like th...

"Vacation?"

So I am on a "vacation" of sorts with my husband visiting my mother.  She still lives where I grew up in Western Mass or otherwise known as The Pioneer Valley. It is one of the most picturesque places I have been.  Below are some pictures of where I grew up. The first picture is Called Prospect House it is still on the top of Mount Holyoke Range in South Hadley MA.  The mountain is called Skinner mountain named after the the great Skinner family who imported silk from 1700 to the 1920's. The cation explain each photos. This is the Prospect House the way it looked when it was a hotel. People used to be brought half way up the Mountain then they would take a trolly car the rest of the way up because it was so steep. You can see the covered trolly going up. In the 1700's they built a grand hotel on the top of Skinner mountain called Prospect House .  It soon grew into the place to ...

Inspiring Beach Art Studio

The fully restore captains house  I recently stayed with a very good friend of mine at a Cape house in Orleans.  Her parents were I guess you could say, were "house sitting" for there good friends while they were on a long family bike trip around Europe. So here I am thinking we are going to a modest cape house but when we pulled in the  long  tree lined driveway to an old Captains house with a barn and two carriage houses on the property I was shocked.  This house was beautiful to say the least.  Now the people that owned it lived in it year round so it was really a home not a beach house even though the beach was at the end of the street.  Their daughter "the artist" who was also on the trip is a painter, an amazing painter at that. Her work was all over the main house. She made her studio /live-in space on the property near the huge back garden that had every fruit and vegetable...
